Market Insights Beta FAQs
Market Insights Beta - Frequently Asked Questions
What is Market Insights?
EstimateOne’s new Market Insights product enables you to understand how the commercial tender market has performed over the last five quarters in terms of the volume of tenders and the average tender project budgets, at a national, state and category level.
The intention is for this to provide you with context for your own sales results, to assist in identifying areas of opportunity.
Where can I access Market Insights in the EstimateOne Dashboard?
Once logged into your EstimateOne account, navigate to the ‘Insights’ Tab. Once ‘Insights’ has been clicked the Market (Beta) tab below which will populate with the Market Insights data.
How should I best use Market Insights?
The best way to gain value from Market Insights is to look at the trends in the data, and compare this to your own sales data to see if you are following market trends, potentially outperforming the market, or have opportunities for growth. For example, do you need to focus your sales efforts in a particular state? Is there an opportunity for growth in another state?
You can use the tooltips in Market Insights to prompt your thinking for questions to ask yourself and learn from the data.
Where does the Market Insights data come from?
Market Insights utilises the information from all the public commercial tenders listed on the EstimateOne platform, based on the information provided to EstimateOne by builders.
Which months are included in which quarters?
Quarters run with the calendar year. For example, Q1 comprises of January, February and March.
How often are the charts updated?
The charts are updated quarterly. At 8am on the first day of the next quarter a new quarterly data point will be added. For example, at 8am on 1 October 2022, Q3 2022 data will be added to the charts.
How can I export/ download/print the charts?
We currently don’t have the capability for you to download and/or print the charts, this is a feature we’d like to introduce down the track. As a work around you can use print screen capabilities to make a copy for use in your own internal documents.
Can I use this information in external marketing materials?
No, Market Insights are provided for internal business purposes only.
My colleague doesn’t use EstimateOne, but they’d like to gain access to use Market Insights?
Of course. You can click on the ‘Invite User’ button at the top of the Market Insights page to invite them to create an EstimateOne account.
What does ‘Beta’ mean?
Beta is a stage in product development that provides an opportunity for a limited group of customers to use a product in a real environment to uncover any bugs or issues, and to provide feedback on improvements before releasing to a wider audience.
How long will Market Insights be in ‘beta’ for?
Market Insights will be in beta until later in 2022, but at this stage we do not know the exact date or month. We will give you a few weeks notice before the beta trial ends, and you will have the opportunity to upgrade if you would like to retain access to market insights.
As a Professional customer, if I want to retain access to Market Insights after the beta phase, how much will it cost?
We’re currently looking at how we bundle up our products in future, so unfortunately we can’t provide you an answer on this just yet. Rest assured, as soon as we know more we’ll be sure to let you know!
How can I understand more about the trend in specification of my brand/products?
In the near future we’ll be surfacing insights in the EstimateOne platform broken down by the products / keywords you have saved in your Speci-Finder reports.
However, in the meantime you can contact our Head of Market Intelligence, Jeremy Johnston jeremy.johnston@estimateone.com or book a demo here to discuss our customised reporting packages available to assist you in better understanding specification insights.
