  1. Add in "Concrete Benchtops" as a trade.

Concrete Benchtops for kitchens, fireplace arrangements, reception counters, conference rooms, outdoor kitchens / BBQ, concrete furniture.
Please make your site easier to drill down for the relevant projects. I would then use your site.

    Hi Julian,
Thanks for your feedback, we understand and appreciate that your specific trade isn’t available to select and the frustration that creates. At this stage we do not plan to add further trades as the list would become long and difficult to navigate.
We suggest you use “specification search” to look for “concrete benchtops”, which will search all documents uploaded to EstimateOne for you.
We hope that helps, and happy searching.

  2. Add a trade "stonemason"

If a project is listed under brickwork or blockwork I'm not interested.

As a supplier of Solar Hot Water & Photovoltaic products, it is time consuming for us to open most projects to see if our trade is required.
Solar Panels is highlighted on our end but several projects have either PV panels, Photovoltaic or Kilowatts in the projects but there is no option to pick these options to add to our search engine.
Having a wider range of trade products will save plenty of time for people to search.

  4. Interest Level and Notes should carry over to the Spec Search and Project Search results page.

When viewing the Spec or Project Search results, it would be helpful to see the Interest Level and any notes applied to a tender to avoid double-handling.

    Hi Callum,
Thank you for your feedback, we certainly want to avoid double handling, and this seems like it would be a useful feature. For the moment this isn’t on our radar, but happy to consider it again in the future. Thank you again for your suggestion.

  5. Please make builders aware that to expediate the delivery of a demolition quote they should make sure there is a specific Demolition plan.

We often have to download masses of plans to fine a single page Demolition Plan. If we don't receive a specific demo plan from Estimate 1 or any of the builders we often don't have time to chase them down so they may be disregarded.

    Hi Adam,
We understand the frustration with builders not providing demolition plans early on in the tender process.

Unfortunately this is an industry-wide issue where quite often, the tender package does not contain demolition plans and time poor estimators are not able to produce one in a timely fashion.

Our suggestion in this case is to shoot the estimator a quick email and ask for a demo scope – most will be very happy to hear from you!

We understand that you’d like to be able to select site imagery as a trade, and quote to builders – is that correct?

Unfortunately we are not able to list every trade required on a project, or builders would be creating hundreds of packages and it would make the entire process quite tedious for all involved.

Our suggestion would be to view awarded projects from 12 months ago and reach out to the builders as a business development exercise. That should help you generate new leads and get more projects.

  7. Add Stone Cladding as a trade I can add to my account.

Can you please add stone cladding to your trades needed please its a fast growing product (BCI has it include)

  9. I think you should expand your categories

Hi, I was thinking it could be a good idea to expand the product/ trade categories. On each project listing (on the "Trades" section) I think it would be good if each component was clickable, and could then expand to show more detail. For example, we are specifically a metal ceiling supplier. It would be a massive benefit if I could see whether the project has metal ceilings specified. I download a lot of ceiling documents only to find that 90% have specified mineral fibre or plasterboard, etc - which we have zero interest in.

    With a clickability/ expand function…

While we can see that a more exhaustive list of trades would help you find projects with your specific focus, at this stage we do not plan to add further trades as the list would become long and difficult to navigate.
The best way to find projects relevant to you, would be to use our Specification Search to look for particular keywords like “metal ceiling” or a brand name, which will search all documents uploaded to EstimateOne for you.
We hope that helps, and happy searching.

  11. Is it possible to get a breakdown in the total costs of any project ? Example Land , Labor , Materials , and also display this as a % factor

For us that is a supplier of materials and little else we would like to know to what extent we can be of service to any individual project

Thanks for the feedback, we understand the value this would have to you. Unfortunately, this will vary wildly between different projects based on intent, design, purpose, etc. We would not feel comfortable putting forward any suggested price ranges with any level of confidence. The Rawlinson’s Construction Guide would be the best resource you could find on developing your own pricing model. Trust this assists!

  12. Add a trade for Stair Nosing

This is a niche trade, which deserves it's own trade heading. Builders will often make specific packages for Stair Nosing.

  13. Highlight trades that has been awarded to a subcontractor

When clicking on a project that has been awarded to a builder, there should be an indication that shows which trades has been let/ or given a contract to.

We understand the value in informing you of which trades have been let by the builder, and is something we wish we could offer you.

As a platform made primarily for tendering, it would be difficult to get estimators to notify users when trades are let. The estimators workload is focused on tendering projects, not deliverying them.

We will be expanding our “delivery” module for builders in the future and will review this as we grow. Please be patient, and we’ll do what we can.

  14. Have more exact budget values on projects.

Sometimes the ranges are $20-30m or $30-50m. It would help if values were a lot more specific. Sometimes values are missing completely or are inaccurate.

We understand the value in having accurate budget values on projects.

Unfortunately this is an industry wide issue where figures will vary widely once the estimators dig into tenders and determine how much the project will actually cost.

We’ll investigate how best to educate estimators on putting correct budgets in their tenders.

We understand that you wish to search projects based on the builders packages. Whilst it is great in theory, we feel it wouldn’t work in practice.

Subbies and suppliers are “matched” to a trade list which the builders also have. Builders can create new packages but not map them to a trade, which is what you’re referring to. This level of flexibility for builders is the best way for them to connect with subbies.

We’re going to be reviewing the way subbies and suppliers search for projects, and this feedback will form part of that review.

Only the date is displayed to keep the History page clean and streamlined. We can’t imagine a use case where having time stamps here would be useful.

If it helps, the History page shows the order of events from recent to oldest, so you can tell which builder/tendered uploaded documents first, etc.

    Hope this helps.

  17. Have a date when project awarded

Have date the company has been awarded this project, have found recently that some projects they mark as awarded and the project has already been completed, this would save time and embarrassment when contacting the company.

We understand the frustration with not having the correct awarded project date, particularly when you’re reaching out to the builder.

We have marked this as Not Progressing, but we are working on educating builders as to the benefits of marking projects as Awarded as soon as possible to help subbies and suppliers better identify opportunities.

  18. Identifying projects previously opened and checked out while using Spec Search

It would be helpful to have the ability to mark off projects that we've already opened up and looked at while using the Spec Search feature. It is easy to remember the ones that you have searched for, but there needs to be some way of identifying what you have previously opened and checked out.

We understand the benefit in being able to dismiss or hide already viewed projects in specification search.

We have marked this request as Not Progressing but we are conducting a full review of how specifications search will operate in the future. This suggestion will form part of that review. Keep an eye out for improvements in the not too distant future!

At this stage, we will not be reviewing our pricing structure to allow users to view individual awarded projects.

EstimateOne is constantly evolving and delivering more and more value to subbies and suppliers. We believe there’s great value in the $3 a day that you’d find worthwhile.

Thanks for your suggestion and putting your support behind this idea, we appreciate you taking the time to put it forward. Our challenge is to keep EstimateOne simple and easy to use and we feel that removing this information altogether is not the most suitable way to achieve this. We do plan to improve the filtering of search results in order to make it easier to find projects that are relevant to you. Thanks again for taking the time to put it forward. Cheers, Gilad
