I'm a Head Contractor

Welcome to the Head Contractor Feedback Forum. We encourage all Builders to post suggestions and ideas for improving EstimateOne. Posting new ideas and voting on existing ideas will help us understand what improvements our Users want to see made to the EstimateOne platform.

  1. Multiple 'closing' dates different for various trades

When a project is live, we would like the ability to progressively call on tenders with various different closing dates. Currently there is only one closing date available. Option to select different closing dates for different trades would be great.

We will be considering this idea later in the year. For the time being you can issue packages in stages and update the closing date before each stage.

  2. Add a date to the "Quoted" status that shows on the Invites and Responses page

So that we can easily tell if a Subcontractor has submitted a quotation before they download the latest version of their document package.

Appreciate the suggestion! We understand that this is useful information to surface in your account. At the moment as a work around, I would suggest you jump in the Audit Trail with the subcontractor, this will show the time you marked them as quoted.

  3. Allow me to add a reason I have declined a Document Request

Any chance that when we decline a request for access to documentation we can give one of the following reasons?

    • Product/services not required on project
    • Client selected shortlist
    • Alternatives not allowed to this project

Typically I get Subbies asking why we have not allowed them access, creating a discussion two or three emails long. This could be prevented up front if we could explain why the document request was actually declined.

Hi Peter, Thanks for adding this idea. We understand that improving the language in the rejection emails could strengthen your relationships with Subcontractors.

  4. Allow Builders to indicate which arm of our company is tendering a project

Can you please add a way for us to indicate which part of our company is tendering a project on the project details page. This is to represent which arm of the company the subcontractor should deal with (ie. Construction, Maintenance or Bespoke).

    Thanks for your feedback.

Currently you can do this by writing which arm of the company is tendering by writing this in the Project Description when addidng a new project. We will look into how we can make this clearer for special cases like yourself that have seperate arms in the future, and keep your feedback in mind.

  5. Add the following statuses to the Invites and Responses page so we can assign these to Invitations

    • Left Message
    • Ring (informing a cadet or someone to call this contractor)
    • Maybe Pricing (so we can follow them up)

Thanks for your feedback. Currently in the Invites and Responses page you can leave all this relevant information in the notes tab, and then have the person who needs this information ‘display recent notes’ in the Invites and Response page.

We will be looking into how we can improve the Invites and Responses page and make your follow up even more streamlined, and will take your comments on board.

  6. Allow Builder to prioritize Invitations and Responses for follow up.

Allow me to flag whether an invited Subcontractor needs follow up.

If I were to add a note such as "Please call this Subbie tomorrow" it would be difficult for another User on my account to track this information down.

  7. Make Subcontract Lists available to the Builder

It would be good as a builder to be able to access the subcontractor database (contact details) to assist in issuing tender packages for job that have been awarded to the builder.

This would allow a wider range of unknown subcontractors to be able to be contacted by the builder to tender won work and establish new relationships

Thanks for putting your support behind this idea. We are currently investigating how we can better connect Builders with Subcontractors at tender time. Once we have a better idea of how we might deliver this functionality we will be in touch to discuss it with you. Cheers, Gilad.

  8. Add "I'm no longer quoting" links in Broadcast Messages and Addenda Notifications emails

Links should be added to Broadcast Message and Addenda / Revision notification emails that allow the subcontractor to indicate they are not going to be pricing the tender, just like in the initial "Invitation to Tender" email.

Thanks for putting your support behind this idea. We can see how allowing subcontractors to update their quoting status more often will boost your response rates.
