I'm a Head Contractor

Welcome to the Head Contractor Feedback Forum. We encourage all Builders to post suggestions and ideas for improving EstimateOne. Posting new ideas and voting on existing ideas will help us understand what improvements our Users want to see made to the EstimateOne platform.

  1. Add the ability to identify and merge duplicate companies and contacts in my Address Book

It would be helpful if we could somehow generate a list of all Address Book entries that EstimateOne suspects contain duplicates of the same contact.

Once this list has been generated it would be helpful if we could choose to merge any companies we identify as the same.

If there is conflicting information in any fields, we would like the ability to choose which of the fields we want to keep and which contains information that is incorrect or redundant.

This would be particularly helpful as it would allow us to merge response data for past tenders, information that is…

This is now available! Head to the ‘Duplicates’ tab in your Address Book to view and accept suggested duplicates so you can keep your address book spic and span.

  2. Allow our Subbies to upload their quotes to EstimateOne rather than emailing them to us

Allow our Subbies to upload their quotes to EstimateOne and have these sent to us in bulk rather than us asking them to email and fax them through to us.

You can now upload your quotes via EstimateOne! Check the Project Slider for the quote functions.

  3. Add the ability to assign a contact as the Primary Contact

It would be good if we could nominate which of the multiple contacts at a company are our primary point of contact.

Thank you for this suggestion. You can now add primary contacts to a contact list, which can be leveraged when sending tender invitations.

  4. Provide a comment field in the invites and responses section to allow for tender specific notes

A comment box would mean that followup calls, call back times and similar send out specific information could be captured for another person to continue calling.

  5. Add the ability to Delete entries from the Invites and Responses page

In the event an invitation email is sent to a Subbie who is no longer in business it would be good if we could remove this entry from our Invitations and Responses.

From the dropdown menu you can revoke an invitation, removing the subcontractor from your invitation list and their access so the documentation.

  6. Allow a single subcontractor contact to be invited when using a 'List'

When building a list, allow the selection of a single subcontractor contact for the tender, where there are multiple contacts available for a subbie.

Currently we are 'spamming' every contact for large subcontractors when we want to send it to a specific person.

Thanks for putting your support behind this idea. We have made some changes to the list management tool including adding a feature that what we call ‘Contact Lists’, in addition to the ‘Company Lists’ functionality that already exists. Please have a look at the below knowledge base article to find out how to make the most of ‘Contact Lists’. Please get in touch if you have any questions about this feature. Cheers, Gilad.

  7. Display a contacts position when I am issuing Multiple Invitations

This would allow me to distinguish between the Estimator and the Company Director in the event they both appear in my Address Book.

Thanks for this suggestion, it has certainly gathered quite a bit of support from the community in a short period of time! We would like to announce that this feature is now available. You can control whether you show or hide the “Position” column from the “Hide/Show Columns” menu on the “Invite Multiple” page. Thanks again for your suggestion. Cheers, Gilad

  8. Return the order trades are displayed in on the 'Trades Involved' page

Previously trades on the "trades" page were ordered alphabetically going down the page. Once you reached the bottom of a column you would be able find the next trade in the list at the top of the next column.

This order has been updated so that the trades are ordered alphabetically across the page. Now every 4th trade is on a new row which makes it quite easy to skip rows of trades by accident.

It would be great if we could go back to how this used to be ordered.

Thanks for putting your support behind this idea. We have made some changes to the “Trades Required” page to make it easier when selecting trades. We thank you all for your feedback. Cheers, Gilad.

  9. Add a "Quoting" status that can be assigned to contacts on the Invites and Responses page.

Add a new "Quoting" status for Tender Responses (as displayed on the Invites and Responses page).

"Quoting" will indicate whether a contact has expressed any intention to provide a quote for that tender.

Invites and Responses should be able to be filtered to show only contacts who have been assigned the "Quoting" status.

"Quoting" and "Quoted" are mutually exclusive. If I mark a contact as "Quoted" this should replace their "Quoting" status.

  10. Improve the staged send-out process for builders

Sending out packages in stages can be a little cumbersome at the moment, in that a revision has to be manually created each time.

I suggest EstimateOne create a more streamlined process of issuing packages in stages (i.e. services first, structure a few days later, finishing trades a few days after that, etc) without having to go through the formal revision / addendum process.

  11. Allow Builders to set a custom trade order

It would be great if I could set a custom order of trades.

This order would then be reflected on the Trades page in my Address Book, the Document Matrix and on the Issuing Invitations page.

This would allow me to work through trades in the order I prefer, this could be alphabetical order, in order of discipline or in the order in which my company builds.

Thanks for your feedback. All trades in your account are always displayed in ascending alphabetical order. Adding an alphanumeric code to the front of each trade, will allow you to sort the trades based on these codes rather than the name of the trade. It is worth noting that your trades will always be sorted within their disciplines. If you do not want your trades organised in disciplines, you simply need to re-assign all trades to the same discipline. Cheers, Gilad

  12. Broadcast Message - Unable to Track (Trace) Record

We are unable to tell what we have sent in our Broadcast Messages or view a list of who has received them. It would be good if we could view a register which records each broadcast message sent and to whom.

  13. Allow a small notification under the notes tab- there is no symbol under the notes section that shows you there's a note written.

Your colleague could write a note under that sub-contractor and without them informing you there's a note, you would have no idea there's an existing note to consider.

This has now been done. You will be able to see a count for the number of notes for a particular company in your Address Book, without having to navigate to the tab.

  14. Add a category called Mixed Use.

Project categories currently include retail, commercial, industrial etc... but often we have projects that have retail AND commercial. - ie Mixed Use

Great news! You can now select “Mixed Use” as a category when adding a project in EstimateOne. Thanks again for the suggestion, we hope it helps connect you with the right subcontractors!

  15. Send Packages Individually

Ability to send packages individually instead of a bulk send out when you finish with the document matrix.
Different trades and packages require different covering letters and instructions which are not applicable across all trades and some require specific instructions.

  17. Utilise 1 address book between multiple accounts

We would like to utilise 1 address book across all our accounts. Having to manage and update multiple address books for each individual company account is time consuming and leads to errors. We utilise a number of the same sub-contractors and suppliers across all our accounts.

  18. Display a contacts position by default when I am issuing Multiple Invitations

I notice when people don't show this information, they are issuing invites to the wrong contact and therefore we aren't getting the quotes back that we want.

  19. Allow me to see Custom Fields when issuing Multiple Invitations.

It is no longer possible to create a new column when going through the process of Issue Tender Invitations (only ability to filter). Can we get this feature back so we can arrange by the Catergories set in our address book?

Thanks for your feedback. We did have a slight hiccup with this so it wasn’t available with our September update. We’ve now resolved this and you can now see your custom fields when issuing multiple invitations.

  20. State specific compliance

Add optional settings that allow Builders to indicate if there is any state specific code compliance on a project.

For example the NSW Code of Practice for the Building and Construction Industry (NSW Code) or the Victorian Government's Code of Practice for the Building and Construction Industry (Victorian Code).

Thanks for your feedback, you are able to make clear this state specific compliance is relevant in your project description which your Subcontractors will see before they download their package.
